Workshop on Exploitation of Multimedia Databases

Brussels, 22-01-1997 In the context of ESPRIT a workshop on exploitation of multimedia databases is being organised on 13-14 March 1997 at the EC Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.

Currently five sessions are being planned:

The workshop aims to present possible future directions of applications and technologies in their respective fields by providing

an overview of on-going ESPRIT projects
keynote speeches e.g. on "On-Line Information Services" and "Data and Link Analysis in Multimedia Databases"
a panel discussion on "Opportunities in Multimedia Data Processing & Its Applications - and Investments & Actions Needed to Exploit Them"

The target is to establish contacts, to create synergy, and to stimulate information exchange and collaboration between participants.
