23-9-96 First series of Technology Transfer Nodes selected

Out of some 30 first proposals, the European Commission has selected 12 Technology Transfer Nodes that will play an important role in the support of HPCN in Europe. A second evaluation and selection is currently under way.

23-9-96 HPCN workshop at European IT Conference

At the European IT Conference, the Esprit Conference organised by the European Commission, there will be a special post-conference workshop on HPCN added.

11-9-96 UK informed about EU HPCN programme

On the 9th of September a select group of industrialists computer experts and vendors assembled at the DTI headquarters in London for a one day "Information Workshop" organized by Smith System engineering, the UK Department of Trade and Industry and the Parallel Applications Centre, PAC, Southampton. The theme of the workshop was "The business benefits of HPCN". The excuse was to promote and provide information the EC and DTI's R&D activities and support structures. In addition, several companies which already took the plunge in the HPCN ocean and are excited with the benefits presented their story of how and what they have done to bask in the sunshine of success.
