Paradigm makes GeoDepth suite available on HP platforms

Dallas, 04 November 97 Paradigm Geophysical Corporation will make the Paradigm Geophysical GeoDepth application suite available to HP computing customers. This application is used by oil companies worldwide for imaging complex subsurface geologies. GeoDepth 98 applications will be made available on HP's technical computing platforms, and GeoDepth migration applications will be parallelized and performance-tuned for HP's Exemplar family of scalable servers.

The above announcement was made at the annual meeting of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). Although depth processing offers a tremendous payoff, it requires a scalable computing platform for full exploitation. The HP Exemplar family combines a range of seamless application performance with binary compatibility over systems from a single processor up to HP's largest parallel-processing system.

Exemplar servers are deployed in seismic processing and imaging environments, where they are used by oil companies, seismic contractors and specialty processors to reduce cycle times on 3-D exploration and production (E&P) projects. The HP-UX operating system on Exemplar servers gives users access to a variety of software tools for interoperability with UNIX system and Microsoft Windows NT desktop platforms.

Paradigm Geophysical develops depth domain exploration applications for subsurface imaging and reservoir delineation to the oil and gas industry.
