Clustering based on HP high performance servers

By combining the single-system features inherent in HP NetServer systems, the multisystem features of Microsoft Cluster Server, and 24x7 NT services and support, each platform supports a cluster application that is designed to eliminate single points of failure and that can provide up to 99.9 percent system uptime.

Ordering, installing, and managing HP NetServer clusters has been simplified through a suite of tools and services. The HP Order Assistant tool ensures that the clustering solution is. In order to manage HP NetServer effectively, HP has integrated HP ClusterView for NT with Microsoft Cluster Server. ClusterView runs on HP OpenView Network Node Manager to centrally manage large numbers of NT and UNIX system clusters. Microsoft Cluster Server configurations have been designed to allow planned and unplanned downtime. For instance, one server node can be brought off-line for maintenance without bringing down the whole cluster.

HP has worked closely with Microsoft to develop a high availability scalable service and support program for Windows NT. This joint program provides customers with around-the-clock priority system recovery service for software issues by escalating issues to a joint HP and Microsoft virtual lab.In addition, HP has developed a proactive prevention program that addresses potential outages before they occur.
