UK's largest data archive for mobile telecoms
London, 24 October 97
Logica has won a major GBP 5 million contract from Vodafone, a mobile telecom company. Logica is going to supply the archive system "Calls Park" to store information relating to calls made by Vodafone's three million network users. The Calls Park system from Logica will provide Vodafone with a complete automated network audit capability which can be used as the basis for reconciling billing queries, improving customer service, and planning network expansion.
For the management of Vodafone the data accumulated on the Call Park will, in addition, provide an information resource on which to base the business' strategy. The Calls Park system with its 10 Terabyte of storage will capture all the data generated by the millions of calls carried each day on the Vodafone network. The data has both an immediate and longer term value as the basis for billing and managing strategic development of the network. With its capability to store data from 1600 call records per second for beyond six years, the Calls Park will build up the definitive record of Vodafone network activity.
Founded in 1969, Logica is an international computer consultancy, systems integration and software company.
