Sun's Ultra Enterprise E10000 a big success

Munich, 01 November 97 Helmut Krings, Sun's General Manager in Germany, reported on the success of Sun's flagship server the Ultra Enterprise 10000. At the end of the third quarter of 1997, 194 of these systems were shipped. In Germany 11 orders were placed during the quarter.

The eleven machines for Germany will be installed in different application areas, for example:

  • 3 E10000 at Bosch-Siemens household appliances for data warehousing and SAP R/3
  • 1 E10000 at SAP
  • 1 E10000 at BB-Data (Berliner Bank), serving the Berlin housing-office
  • 1 E10000 at Hypobank Munich
  • 1 E10000 at Vereinsbank Munich
