SGI announces management changes

Mountain View 08 May 00 SGI announced two senior management changes. Warren Pratt has been named as senior vice president, engineering, responsible for product development and engineering. Betsy Rafael, senior vice president and chief financial officer, has resigned to pursue an opportunity with a private, non-competing firm. In the interim, SGI's senior financial team under the direction of Bob Bishop, chairman and chief executive officer, will manage financial and administrative operations.

Pratt has been with SGI for nine and a half years, the last two and a half as president of Alias|Wavefront, a wholly owned, independent software subsidiary of SGI. In addition to his new SGI role, Pratt has been named as chairman of Alias|Wavefront. Doug Walker has been named as president of Alias|Wavefront.

Prior to his time at Alias|Wavefront, Pratt spent seven years in key executive roles at SGI, including senior vice president for the company's application business and vice president and general manager of the division that brought the Indigo and Indigo2 graphics workstations to market. Prior to joining SGI, Pratt was in engineering with Hewlett-Packard Company for 14 years
