Another addition to Tera's Board of Directors

Seattle 24 Jan 00 Tera Computer Company's board of directors has elected Dean D. Thornton a member of the board. Thornton becomes the ninth member of Tera's board of directors.

p> Mr. Thornton, 71, held a number of key managerial and executive positions at The Boeing Company over a 30-year career. He served as President of Boeing Commercial Airplane Group -- Boeing's largest operating division -- from 1985 until his retirement in 1994. During that time he also served as an executive vice president of The Boeing Company and a member of its executive council.

He has an outstanding record of bringing advanced technology products to market, and a reputation for excellence and professionalism. We are delighted to have Dean Thornton join our board."

Dean D. Thornton served as President of Boeing Commercial Airplane Group from February 1985 until his retirement in January 1994. He was also an executive vice president of The Boeing Company and a member of its executive council.

Prior to joining Boeing, Mr. Thornton was a partner with the predecessor to Deloitte & Touche LLP.
