SGI Names Gary Geissler Vice President of Engineering
Mountain View 26 Apr 00 Gary Geissler, 47, has been named SGI vice president of Engineering based in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. A Chippewa Falls native, Geissler will be responsible for scalable server development, as well as leading and managing SGI's Engineering Technology Services and Interconnect Technology organizations.
Geissler brings 18 years of server development and engineering experience to the job. Geissler joined Cray Research, Inc. immediately following college. He has held several management positions in his career with Cray Research, Inc. and SGI including director of engineering for the Scalable Hardware Development group and director of engineering for the Advanced Server Development group. Geissler attended the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire where he double majored in Physics and Mathematics and earned a B.S. in Physics. He continued his post-graduate work at University of Wisconsin at Madison where he earned a MSEE in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
