12th Conference of the Fujitsu Siemens SAVE AK "Scientific Computing"
Paderborn 04 Apr 00 On March 23 and 24, the SAVE (Siemens Users Group) working group "Scientific Computing" had its spring meeting in Paderborn. About 70 participants from all over Europe came together, to discuss their experiences in using Fujitsu Siemens computers. Summaries of the most interesting presentations are given in separate articles. Head of the AK Scientific Computing is Dr. Klaus Brühl from RWTH Aachen, a technical university.
The working group meeting main topics included: - hpcLine, news from Fujitsu Siemens and status reports from the different sites, application software, news from Scali and questions and discussions
- experiences with the VPP5000 and site reports, performance and applications
- GP7000F, introduction into the new SPARC64-based SMP system, the software, the processor roadmap and its role in the HPC product offering
