Scheduling and Load Balancing on Clusters (SLAB 2001)
Brisbane 23 October 2000 A special session
on
scheduling and load balancing on clusters (SLAB 2001) will be held during the 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid (CCGrid 2001) on 16-18 May 2001
Brisbane, Australia. Papers are requested.
Clusters of workstations and/or PCs connected by a high-speed
network are becoming a viable platform for running computation
intensive parallel applications. In order to enable the execution
of high-performance applications on such systems, proper task
scheduling and load balancing algorithms are needed to partition,
allocate, monitor, and migrate (if necessary) the application
tasks on the cluster.
Papers reporting novel techniques and/or
new results on scheduling and load balancing for clusters are
solicited to be presented in this special session. The purpose of
the session is to provide a forum for researchers in the field to
exchange ideas and research results related to resource
management techniques in a cluster computing environment
