Pentium 4 systems from Fujitu SiemensMunich 20 November 2000 Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced its next generation of 1.5 GHz based Intel Pentium 4 processor based systems, called SCENIC L professional PC and CELSIUS 460.
The Intel Pentium 4 Processor is based on a new high-performance microarchitecture - NetBurst - and includes 144 additional instructions which help accelerate 3D graphics performance. The new systems all use the D1192 systemboard, designed and manufactured by Fujitsu Siemens Computers and incorporating the Intel i850 chipset which offers the latest memory technology (2 RAMBUS channels), Graphics interface (4x AGP Pro), ultra-fast 400 MHz system bus and several other technical enhancements to optimise performance for visual and Internet applications. The D1192 comes from a long line of world-class systemboards which elevate standard chipset and memory technology with exceptional reliability, manageability and performance enhancements.
The SCENIC L professional PCs are available in a wide range of configurations depending on customer requirements. The SCENIC Series provides a unique approach to configure exactly the computer that corporate customers need, with a basic configuration including a 1.4 GHz or 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 processor, 128 MB of RAMBUS memory, 32 MB graphics memory and up to 20 GB Ultra DMA-100 hard disk drive. The SCENIC L can be extended by three different upgrade packages: the Pro Package, which offers basic monitoring and security features; the Pro Security Package which offers extended security functions for a secure business environment; and the Pro Manageability package, featuring complete system monitoring functions to lower overall IT costs.
CELSIUS workstations have set performance records four times in the last 18 months in SPEC benchmarks and are fully industry-standard certified. The Celsius 460 will include a 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256 MB of RDRAM together with a vast range of graphic subsystems.
