Dongarra elected to US National Academy of Engineering

Knoxville 21 February 2001 Jack J. Dongarra was among 74 new members elected to the US National Academy of Engineering.

Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer in the USA. Academy membership honors those who have made significant contributions to engineering theory and practice as well as to the engineering literature, and to those who have demonstrated unusual accomplishment in pioneering new and developing fields of technology.
