Reliable Linux clusters from SteelEye and Linux NetworX cooperation
Salt Lake City 23 January 2001 SteelEye Technology entered an OEM agreement with Linux NetworX, a provider of large-scale clustered computers
for Internet, industry and research fields. Linux NetworX will offer SteelEye's
LifeKeeper for Linux Next Generation Enterprise Reliability platform in
the solutions it provides to eBusiness customers requiring the highest standards
of availability, reliability and performance for their business-critical
systems, data and applications on Linux.
Linux NetworX designs
Linux cluster systems for high performance and high availability needs.
Evolocity is a complete cluster solution, including computational hardware and
versatile management software, ClusterWorX. Evolocity systems can outperform
supercomputers and enterprise-class servers for a fraction of the cost. Cluster
technology is a method of linking multiple compute nodes together to form a
unified, more powerful system.
SteelEye's LifeKeeper for Linux maximizes the high availability of clustered
Linux systems and applications by monitoring system and application health,
maintaining client accessibility and providing uninterrupted data access
regardless of where clients reside -- on the corporate intranet, extranet or
Internet. LifeKeeper utilizes industry-proven technology to automatically
restore application services by either restarting them locally or relocating
them to another server in the cluster. This functionality helps LifeKeeper users
to eliminate risks associated with a single point of failure and allows Linux
systems to meet the stringent availability requirements of mission-critical
operations by creating a fault resilient environment.
