Dolphin
Interconnect introduces two new high performance interconnect solutions
for super-clusters
Westlake Village 30 January 2001 Dolphin Interconnect introduced two new
high performance interconnect solutions, the WulfKit D335 and D339.
Both WulfKit D335 and D339 are high performance 64bit/66Mhz SCI interconnect
assemblies that boast the fastest interconnect bandwidth available
today combined with extremely low latency. It is designed to enhance
the performance of high performance AMD, Alpha, Intel or SUN computer
superclusters.
>"Dolphin
Interconnect is excited to add the WulfKit D335 and D339 to its product
offering," said Keith Murphy, vice president of sales and marketing
at Dolphin Interconnect. "We are constantly looking toward the
future to anticipate customer needs and product demands, so it was
natural to evolve from 32bit/33Mhz technology to the next generation
64bit/66Mhz."
Both
the WulfKit D335 and D339 are 64bit/66Mhz SCI interconnect assemblies
that include a PCI to SCI network interface card, a SCI network daughter
card, two one-meter SCI cables and a complete single node version
of Scali's SCI "tuned" Message Passing Interface (MPI) middleware
and powerful cluster management software. Both the WulfKit D335 and
D339 are complete high performance interconnect solutions in a single
box.
The
WulfKit D339 replaces the existing 32Bit/33MHz WulfKit D319, however
the WulfKit D335 has been designed so that its two cards will fit
into a single PCI slot, allowing for installation in the new slim-line
server boxes of 2U or less while still offering the performance of
Wulfkit's 2D Torus topology. With 64bit/66Mhz technology, the interconnect
bandwidth is now 1.6 Gigabytes and latency is still less than five
microseconds across the supercluster. The WulfKit D335 and D339 will
be shipping as of February 5, 2001. Pricing for the D335 is $1,795
and the D339 is $1,695.
