Several enterprise customers are already benefiting from Linux NetworX clusters using AMD Athlon processor technology. The Boeing Company, for example, is using a Linux NetworX cluster powered by 96 AMD Athlon processors. The system, designed as a high performance cluster, is being used by Boeing Space and Communications in Huntington Beach to run computational fluid dynamics applications in support of the Delta IV program. Boeing Delta IV engineers tested multiple processor platforms at Linux NetworX facilities prior to buying the cluster, and selected the AMD Athlon for its price and performance advantages.
Both the academic and private sectors have adopted AMD Athlon processor-based parallel cluster systems for use in high-level computing and scientific research. The AMD Athlon processor's advanced technology has provided the scalability and flexibility to create powerful cluster systems, linking multiple compute nodes into parallel clusters.
