Platform computing signs strategic agreement with CompaqToronto 12 March 2001 Platform Computing Corporation has entered into a five-year strategic agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation that will embed Platform's LSF (Load Sharing Facility) software for distributed computing into Compaq's AlphaServer SC systems.
In a second phase to the agreement, Platform and Compaq will work together to more tightly integrate and enhance the functionality of LSF with the AlphaServer SC software environment. The result of that work will be available to new and existing AlphaServer SC customers in a new version of the AlphaServer SC software targeted for release starting in Q4 of 2001.
"With Platform's LSF, our customers can accelerate the ability to scale projects and business without sacrificing quality or time to results," said Bill Blake, Vice President of the High Performance Technical Computing Group at Compaq. "LSF provides the power of a virtual supercomputer through advanced scheduling and parallel computing. We're delighted to be able to offer this leading resource management software as increased value to our customers," Blake added.
