The KDE project released KDE 2.1

Nuermberg 27 February 2001 The new version of Linux' KDE Desktop announced by the KDE project arrives with a large number of new features, fixes and improvements compared to KDE 2.0.1, KDE 2.1 is available in 33 languages and contains the KDE core libraries, the desktop environment and more than 100 applications from the other KDE standard base packages in the area of Administration, Network, Personal Information Managment (PIM), Games, Graphics, Multimedia and Utilities.

Additionally, developers find the development environment KDevelop, Bindings, an SDK and Documentation. KDE 2.1 ships with over 14 styles, some of which emulate the look of other operating systems. KOffice is not part of this release.
