Primergy B120 entry level system from
Homburg 07 February 2001 Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced Primergy B120, a new entry-level server . The company is further delivering RemoteView V3.0, a new component for remote server management which further enhances the availability of the Primergy B120 model and other PRIMERGY servers.
Both PRIMERGY B120 and RemoteView V3.0 are easy to install and use, while offering attractive price/performance ratios, which make them available to organisations of all sizes.
A key benefit of the PRIMERGY B120 is the flexibility it offers. It allows small and medium-sized businesses to upscale their server hard disk space and memory to match growing business requirements. Equipped with a Pentium III 866, 933 MHz or 1GHz processor and a 133 MHz bus, the PRIMERGY B120 has 4 PCI slots, which allow the server to be attached to external subsystems. The server's hot-plug backplane for SCSI devices facilitates a quick and easy upgrade to a hot-plug system using a RAID controller. The server has up to 144 Gbytes internal hard disk capacity plus space for additional externally accessible drives. All server components are of high quality, ensuring non-stop, reliable server operation.
RemoteView V3.0 enables PRIMERGY servers to be remotely configured, installed, monitored and updated. As an option, RemoteView can include the RemoteView Service Board which operates as a self-contained system within the server, with its own operating system, web server, SNMP-agent, user management, power supply and dedicated event manager for forwarding alarms. This means that the server can be managed remotely even when its operating system crashes or hardware components fail.
RemoteView V3.0 detects and diagnoses server problems quickly, allows remote maintenance and even selects replacement parts for hardware issues. Remote management reduces the need for costly and time-consuming service call-outs, resulting in shorter server downtimes and lower service costs - key considerations for any business in the e-business age.
