NetGenics to resell IBM DiscoveryLink technologyCleveland 26 April 2001 DiscoveryLink can accelerate drug discovery by helping researchers merge information -- from many sources, including public and private databases, and in diverse data formats and file types -- using a single query. Under the terms of the agreement, NetGenics can integrate DiscoveryLink into its NetGenics DiscoveryCenter product, as well as re-distribute the technology on a stand-alone basis.
NetGenics' DiscoveryCenter is a comprehensive life science informatics integration package, designed to maximise the use of internal and external information resources. This integrated approach allows for improvements in the direction, quality and efficiency of scientific decision-making in drug discovery research. DiscoveryCenter combines NetGenics' software components, public and private data sources and application software with consulting services, helping pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to tackle complex data integration and analysis problems.
The two companies first collaborated in 1999 during the development phase of DiscoveryLink and NetGenics has continued as the deployment partner for this technology.
