ACE's CoSy compiler development system wins LSI Design of the Year award

Amsterdam 18 July 2001 ACE Associated Compiler Experts said its CoSy compiler development platform received recognition for its leading-edge compiler development capabilities by being awarded an 'LSI Design of the Year' Excellence Award at this year's Embedded Systems Expo and Conference (ESEC) in Tokyo Japan

Competing against more than 1840 other nominations, CoSy was selected to receive one of five Excellence Awards in the Development Environment and Tools category.

The flexibility and modularity of CoSy's open-system environment gives developers the opportunity to develop optimizing compilers for a wide range of target system architectures and processors. In addition to the optimization engines delivered with CoSy, new optimization engines can be quickly developed and integrated into the compiler development environment. As a result, compilers can be optimized for a wide range of run-time requirements such as code size, execution speed and performance.

In addition to supporting CISC, RISC and VLIW compiler development, ACE's introduction of the DSP-C language and its support within the CoSy environment have brought all the time-to-market, IP re-use and program maintenance advantages of high-level language programming to the DSP community as well.
