NAG and IACR form new company VSN for statistics and analytical software
San Jose 24 July 2001 NAG and IACR-Rothamsted fomed a new joint subsidiary company, VSN International Ltd, for the purposes of developing and marketing best-of-breed statistics and related analytical software and services.
The growth in the analytical software market, driven by the ever-increasing amounts of data stored and processed by organisations and individuals globally, is creating growth opportunities for suppliers of high quality solutions which help users release the hidden value of their data through timely and accurate analysis.
Among VSN's initial products is GenStat, an early pioneer in the field of statistics software dating back more than a quarter century when it was among the very first commercially available statistics packages in the world. Another, forthcoming product is an entirely new type of visual analysis and application building platform based on an EU-Funded 4th Framework development project STABLE.
VSN is wholly owned by NAG and IACR-Rothamsted, and is based in Oxford, England. Roope Aaltonen from NAG has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of VSN, while Professor Roger Payne from Rothamsted is responsible for product development as the Chief Science and Technology Officer.
