Grid company Terraspring appoints CEO

Fremont 18 June 2001 Terraspring, a grid computing software company, appointed Ian Bonner to the position of president and chief executive officer. Bonner, a 22-year veteran of the computing industry and former IBM vice president, is responsible for leading the company to deliver and implement software and technologies in the IT market space.

Bonner joins Terraspring from IBM Corporation, where he was most recently vice president of global business partner marketing. He brings a strong record of managing direct and indirect channels for software companies and consistently demonstrates the ability to stay ahead of market change. At IBM, Bonner was instrumental in managing worldwide partner operations and maintaining strategic account relationships with global systems integrators, Web integrators, ISPs, ASPs, and the venture capital community.

Before that, he served in several other executive roles at IBM including leading the Lotus software products division to major successes and managing joint software marketing with IBM partners. Prior to IBM, Bonner founded several software and telecommunications companies that were later acquired by Bell Canada and others.

Bonner has a graduate diploma in Marketing Management from the University of South Africa and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
