US army requests proposals for Simulation Center
Huntsville 30 July 2001 The U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) is
requesting proposals for the continuance of the operation and
maintenance of the Simulation Center (SC). The SC is available to users within the Department of Defense
(DOD), Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), High Performance Computing
Modernization Office (HPCMO), authorized contractors, and other government
agencies (OGAS). This acquisition is not open to non USA participation.
The principal objectives of this
acquisition are technical services, operation, maintenance, security, and
management requirements for the SC. The SC is a self-contained fully operational
computer center.
The SC serves as a centralized resource for classified and
unclassified supercomputer processing, parallel processing, data visualization,
modeling and simulation, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), networked
communications, software development, as well as technical and administrative
support services.
The SC is located at the USASMDC building in Huntsville,
Alabama's Cummings Research Park East and is connected to the USASMDC
Advanced Research Center (ARC) via high-speed communications links.
The overall planned
period of performance is seventy-two months (consisting of a 3 year basic with
three-one year options). of a 3 year basic with
three-one year options). The government contemplates award of a
Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee, Level of Effort contract.
This acquisition is
not open to foreign participation. The estimated solicitation issue date is 27
Aug 2001 with a forty-five (45) day response time. When issued, the solicitation
