DutchGrid
Amsterdam 07 September 2001 DutchGrid is the platform for large-scale distributed computing in the Netherlands. Open to all institutions for research and test-bed activities, the goal of DutchGrid is to coordinate the various deployment efforts and to offer a forum for the exchange of experiences on Grid technologies. DutchGrid is based on the Dutch chapter of the European DataGrid project.
An entry point in DutchGrid is participation in the shared security infrastructure. Basis for the strong public-key encryption methods and reliable authentication protocol is the DutchGrid Certification Authority service provided by NIKHEF in Amsterdam. Embedded within a European-wide certification infrastructure, the DutchGrid CA enables the possibility for seamless resource sharing by all participants both within the Netherlands and in Europe.
The actual sharing of resources remains subject to bilateral usage agreement.
