TotalView supports new platforms and programming models. This
release introduces support for Linux. You can enjoy your favorite debugger
on Red Hat distributions while analyzing code written with GNU, KAI, PGI,
or Compaq (for Alpha) compilers. TotalView also now supports 64-bit IBM
AIX applications: a single TotalView session can debug both 32- and 64-bit
programs.
This release adds more parallel programming support. TotalView now supports
debugging IBM pthread programs that use M:N user mode scheduling. TotalView
will display information for mutexes, condition variables, R/W locks,
and pthread keys, giving greater visibility into the state of your threaded
program. We've also added to our OpenMP list support for KAI's GUIDE compilers
and viewing of THREADPRIVATE data on IRIX.
