In Europe, for instance, the number one position has been taken for a number of lists by a German supercomputer. Before that, it were UK machines holding the first position in Europe. But do not forget that the large Compaq AlphaServer SC ES45 at CEA in France, already showed sustained performance of 1.3 Tflop/s on large real applications in December last year.
