Compaq delivers supercomputer to Agip for seismic data analysis

Milano 06 December 2001 Compaq will provide Agip with a supercomputer which will outperform by ten times the speed of analyses for seismic data originating from oil sediments in the earth.

The agreement between the two companies also involves two important co-operative realisations by the Italian Informatics industry, namely Cineca, the Interuniversitary Consortium, and the Fine Mechanics Group from Quadrics Supercomputers World.
