BioNumerik Pharmaceuticals launches corporate Web site

San Antonio 10 July 2002 BioNumerik Pharmaceuticals Inc. has launched a corporate Web site. The new site offers insight into the company's management, technologies, and patents, as well as information on ongoing clinical programmes including Phase III studies of the company's lead product candidate BNP7787. In addition, the site features a link to a streaming video produced by Cray Inc. highlighting the central role played by supercomputers in pharmaceutical development at BioNumerik.

"BioNumerik's Web presence has previously been reserved for communications with our clinical collaborators", stated Frederick H. Hausheer, M.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BioNumerik. "This new site reflects our emergence into a broader audience as a product focused company, leveraging a core competency in the application of high performance information technologies in pharmaceutical research and development."

BioNumerik employs an integrated computational approach to enable the design, selection and creation of novel pharmaceuticals, principally for the treatment of cancer. It is a product-focused company with three drugs in clinical trials. The company has a very large on-site dedicated high performance computing facility with two Cray SV1 systems. BioNumerik's lead candidate, BNP7787, has received fast track development designation by the Food and Drug Administration and is designed to protect against many of the common and serious toxicities, such as nerve damage and kidney toxicity, associated with existing cancer therapies.
