Stable Globus version 2.4 released - also experimentel 2.5

Chicago 28 April 2003 The Globus project has released Globus Toolkit 2.4: a stable version of the toolkit. There is also an experimental version 2.5. and aresearch version 3.0.

The current stable version of the Globus Toolkit is 2.4. According to the Globus Project the Replica Location Service (RLS) update is not included in the current 2.4 stable release due to licensing issues.

The current experimental version of the Globus Toolkit is 2.5. The

experimental version is intended to allow interested organisations to test and

experiment with new code prior to the code's appearance in a stable release.

The Globus Toolkit 3.0 alpha 3 release is intendeded for early testing and experimentation with OGSI-based Grid Services.

Globus expects a beta release of 3.0 this month. In July the first stable production version is expected. It will include all of the features of the 2.4 stable release, plus an open source implementation of OGSI.
