Spanish Grid technology for the Japanese marketPalma 12 May 2003 BestSystems and the Spanish company GridSystems have signed a distribution agreement that will grant Grid Research, subsidiary of BestSystems, to distribute in the Japanese market the InnerGrid Software developed by GridSystems. The agreement includes duties about both commercialization and support.
The knowledge of the market, its experience in the supercomputing and Grid technologies and their important offices network all across Japan have been the main reasons for GridSystems to bet for BestSystems as an ideal candidate to start the introduction of InnerGrid in the Japanese market.
"The agreement signed with BestSystems increases the international presence of GridSystems and proves the quality and competitiveness of our product, introducing it into the Japanese market together with one of the best consulting companies in the supercomputing field of this Asian country. All the international analysts predict that the supercomputing and Grid market will experiment an important increase in the period 2003-2006", says Joan Masso, GridSystems CEO.
InnerGrid: Recently awarded by the European Commission with the European IST Prize 2003, InnerGrid is GridSystems' sophisticated multi-platform software product that using Grid technology obtains the maximum performance from a group of computers. It is specially focussed to corporate, academic and research environments.
This product has been designed to exploit to the maximum all the resources (CPU cycles, disk capacities, etc.) of a heterogeneous set of computers (dedicated and not dedicated Windows and Unix computers). InnerGrid is an easy to use and administrate, robust, fault tolerant, and secure system.
