Cray ships first production version of Cray X1 systemSeattle 02 January 2003 Cray Inc. has shipped the first production version of the new Cray X1 supercomputer system at the end of 2002.
"Shipping the first production Cray X1 system is another important milestone for Cray and our customers", stated Cray Inc. chairman and CEO Jim Rottsolk. "With this shipment and recent orders, we have met all of our 2002 goals - first customer shipment of the Cray X1, revenue of between $150 and $160 million, profit for both the year and the second half, and backlog of $100 million."
