With a monoprocessor performance of 105 RPF and system scalability to up to 430 RPF, the SX150 is the most powerful mainframe in the SX range. Its sophisticated partitioning concept provides maximum system distribution flexibility, ensuring the efficient use of resources and simplifying ongoing adaptation to changing performance requirements. With BS2000 technology for server virtualization, cross-system consolidation and dynamic resource adaptation, the SX150 is an essential element of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers range of servers for the Dynamic Data Center.
Maintenance downtimes are kept to a minimum thanks to new dynamic hardware reconfiguration features, which create added possibilities when it comes to load-dependent cross-system resource optimization. This also contributes to enhanced availability and overall system utilization. Another highlight of the SX150 is its more effective handling of encryption algorithms. The result is improved security for sending and saving sensitive data. FibreChannel ports, standard on all current BS2000/OSD models, enable the use of modern storage concepts like storage area networks (SANs), while the latest Gigabit Ethernet LAN (local area network) technology provides high-performance network connections.
The SX150 business server supports the OSD/XC v2.0 operating system, which has the same features as the latest BS2000/OSD v6.0 operating system. This opens up unrestricted BS2000/OSD functionality for the entire SX line, since the binary-compatibility of SX business servers means existing customer applications can run alongside OSD/XC. The SXís hybrid architecture also offers full investment protection by simplifying the linking of established BS2000/OSD applications with new Solaris-based open applications.
The SX 150 business sever broadens the entry-level and mid-range BS2000 offerings from Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Together with the high-end S series, customers have a wide selection of reliable and future-oriented platforms for all their mainframe needs - both today and tomorrow.
