NEC's PSUITE also for Linux

Tokyo 04 Aug 99 NEC announced that PSUITE, the integrated development environment for the SX-4 and SX-5 Series Supercomputer families, will soon be released for Redhat Linux PC environments. PSUITE includes SX Cross compilers, project management utilities, and performance analysis and tuning utilities.

Many NEC customers have been integrating SX systems into PC-dominant environments rather than traditional workstation-dominant networks. PSUITE for Linux therefore provides wider access to our SX Supercomputer development tools for each user's favorite desktop.

Localizing development tools on the user's PC desktop provides a basis for highly flexible personalization and unprecedented portability through use of notebook PCs for complex supercomputer application development.

The following are main features of the new Linux hosted product.

A

fully Cross Development Environment targeting the SX Supercomputer families. Complete object load modules can be generated on a PC removing a large part of development load from the supercomputer itself. The product includes separately priced compilers and library components.

PSUITE Integrated Development Environment PSUITE provides project management, editing, compiling, debugging, and analysis features combined into a single integrated shell. Performance analysis components require an SX host, but the PC resident client enables profile steering and analysis to be located on the PC.
