IMSL C Numerical Library ported to Linux

San Jose 10 Aug 99 Visual Numerics has ported its IMSL C Numerical Library (CNL) to Version 5.2 of the RedHat Linux operating system.

CNL is a comprehensive set of more than 300 prebuilt mathematical and statistical analysis functions that C or C++ programmers can embed directly into their numerical analysis applications. Many of CNL's functions are based upon the same algorithms contained in the IMSL Fortran 90 Library. IMSL tools are used in industries ranging from business and finance to engineering test and analysis to space physics and the earth sciences.

The benefits of using CNL are many; foremost among them is an acceleration of application development and the corresponding savings in time and expense. Organizations that develop their own algorithms will invest as much resource in developing a single algorithm as it costs to buy and deploy solutions based on CNL.

The IMSL C Numerical Library also supports UNIX-based workstations (Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Silicon Graphics and Compaq) and personal computers running Windows.
