Sybase on Origin 2000 better supported
Emeryville 11 Aug 99 Sybase,
and SGI inked a multi-year sales, marketing and engineering agreement
focused on the delivery of packaged data warehouse solutions tailored for
specific industries. Through this collaboration, organizations in financial
services, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications will have access
to risk analysis and customer relationship management solutions based
on Sybase's Industry Warehouse Studio (IWS) hosted on SGI's high-performance
Origin servers.
In addition to vertical solutions, Sybase and SGI will jointly develop and
optimize new 64-bit versions of Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE), Adaptive
Server IQ (ASIQ) for SGI's IRIX operating system that will fully leverage
SGI's ccNUMA (cache-coherent non-uniform memory access) architecture to provide
ultimate performance and scalability for customers.
Sybase's Industry Warehouse Studios contain industry-specific pre-defined
applications and a data warehouse design and meta data management environment.
Coupled with SGI's high-performance Origin servers, customers will have the
ability to quickly analyze and query down to the individual level through
terabytes of records.
