Rorke Data together with SGI in Digital Content and Asset Management

Mountain View 09 Sep 99 Rorke Data and SGI will offer Rorke's FLEXSTOR.db Digital Content and Asset Management solution for the Origin server platform. By offering FLEXSTOR.db for Origin servers, Rorke and SGI claim they are offering one of the first asset management solutions that also integrates SGI's storage area networks (SAN) on SGI's scalable ccNUMA architecture.

In the past, media companies have traditionally stored their data on film. However, as more and more of the production process becomes digital, currently growing to nearly 80 percent, the problem of efficiently managing and distributing these files has become critical.

Through integration with Oracle8i technologies, FLEXSTOR.db users can effectively manage their assets across the Internet from multiple locations using Java technology and Web clients.
