The new version of CoSy includes several improvements to the code generator, such as: memory disambiguation in the scheduler to optimize independent memory accesses; improved support for dedicated registers; and more powerful instruction dependency specification. Combined, these enhancements to CoSy provide an automatic way to address nuances in compiler code that previously could only be achieved through handcrafted assembly code. Customers are able to reach market faster with a better product and at less cost.
CoSy now features extensive loop optimizations, focused around a new loop annotation. Compilers generated with this support perform better on computation-intensive (signal processing) code, using hardware loop instructions where available.
This new release also features improved integration with debuggers and IDEs, especially when using the ELF/DWARF object file and debug format.
The CoSy Summer 1999 release is currently available for Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and Windows platforms. Pricing begins at euro 250,000.
