SAP implements R/3 for payroll administration at Halifax
Halifax 01 Jun 99 Halifax, the UK's largest mortgage lender with over 2 ? million borrowers, has signed up to implement SAP's R/3 to run its payroll systems. The first standalone payroll implementation by SAP in the UK will have a 150 user licence, processing over 30,000 employee records, and is scheduled to go live in July 1999.
Halifax had a need to introduce a more flexible and efficient payroll solution to replace its 20 year old legacy system. The implementation at Halifax will be a TeamSAP project, with use of resourcessupplied by SAP Consulting and Access Consulting alongside an internal project team. SAP Payroll will enable Halifax to extend the functionality to encompass yearly procedures such as bonus and annual pay processes early in the year 2000. In the longer term, the organisation has plans to extend the SAP project to other companies within the group, including Halifax Estate Agents. The implementation at Halifax is SAP's first payroll-only project in the United Kingdom.
