"Robert is an outstanding addition to our management team", commented Peter Leitner, CEO of the company. "He embodies the entrepreneurial CFO of the twenty-first century, one who's adept at forming and implementing strategy without losing sight of the nuts-and-bolts of an underlying operation. He's also a seasoned health care veteran with experience ranging from privately held start-ups to a NYSE-listed company. We're fortunate to have him aboard."

Prior to joining TeleMedicineIndex.com, Brown was executive vice president and CFO of Advica Health Resources, a full-service management services organisation (MSO) focusing on commercial and government sponsored managed care programmes in New York. Previously, he was vice president of administration for ChubbHealth of New York, the managed care joint venture between Chubb Life America and Healthsource, as well as corporate controller and director of finance for Healthsource Inc., in Concord, New Hampshire.

"As exemplified by increased media attention, telemedicine is the future of health care, not only in the United States but worldwide", stated Mr. Brown. "The team here, from the board of directors on down, is multi-disciplinary, rich in talent, and forward thinking." Mr. Brown will initially focus on closing the company's next round of private financing, identifying alliance partners, and serving on the investment committee.

TeleMedicineIndex.com features comprehensive analyses of the telemedicine and telehealth industry, profiles of leading firms, interviews with leading thinkers, daily columns and commentary, coverage of breaking news, as well as the Waterford Telemedicine Index, which comprises 100 publicly traded companies participating in the field. The WTI generates valuation, financial and operating metrics of corporate and industry performance.

These permit decision-makers and observers to monitor the evolution of the industry, measure performance in comparison with peers, and objectively evaluate specific projects. Equity indices are widely used as benchmarks for measuring the relative performance of a particular stock or a portfolio of stocks to a comparable "market" of companies.

Founded by Waterford Advisors Inc. in July 1999, Waterford Telemedicine Partners provides corporate finance and strategic advisory services to the free standing telemedicine ventures, as well as those that are sponsored by established health care or information technology businesses. In addition, the company prepares industry and company-specific research reports to institutional, corporate and individual investors and their advisers. The firm is headquartered in New York City. More information is available in the article Waterford Telemedicine Partners to launch first-of-its kind Web site for current market and industry data in the VMW April 2000 issue.
