HEALTHvision and Cytura partner to create personalised Web communities for health care organisations

Heathrow 11 April 2001HEALTHvision Inc., an e-health tools developer, and Cytura Corp., an on-line content management and personalisation solutions provider, have closed a strategic alliance, designed to help local health care organisations use the Internet to deliver timely, up-to-date information and resources to key constituents. By integrating Cytura 3.0 solution into HEALTHvision's e-healthSOURCE, a comprehensive Web infrastructure, content owners throughout the health care organisation will be able to quickly and easily update content to deliver the on-line resources which physicians, patients, and consumers are looking for.

e-HealthSOURCE constitutes a comprehensive health care Web infrastructure that allows HEALTHvision to deliver audience specific solution sets for the hospital. The solution sets include COMMUNITYvision focused on patients and consumers; CAREvision for physicians and their office staff; and ENTERPRISEvision, aimed at the health care organisation's employees. HEALTHvision customer-partners, which include more than 75 health care organisations and 10.500 affiliated physicians, leverage these solution sets to deliver customised solutions to local audiences.

Cytura's flexible and robust tool set allows the HEALTHvision customers to enable health care organisations to develop personalised Web communities which integrate custom content, database-driven information, news feeds, third-party applications, and HEALTHvision's custom medical applications under a single look and feel. Because Cytura 3.0 is the first platform that marries real time content management and community building functions with Extreme Personalization, HEALTHvision can offer its customer base a branded Web presence at a significantly lower cost of ownership without sacrificing all the power and performance of a traditional Web site.

"HEALTHvision's decision to deploy the Cytura solution on Microsoft technology is a strong endorsement of our .NET Enterprise Servers which provide a scalable, reliable and flexible platform. Cytura's ability to deliver such a robust solution to manage content, constituents, and communities will enhance the competitive advantage of HEALTHvision and its customers. This, paired with strong differentiators such as ease of deployment, fully-integrated personalisation, customisation without scripting, and an open architecture, make Cytura's solution a competitive offering in the content management space", commented David Lubinski, world wide general manager of health care and public sector at Microsoft.

"If you empower the content owner, you can help health care entities better manage relationships through the delivery of on-line information and resources. The quality of care is dictated by the successful collaboration between the health care organisation, the provider, the patient, and the consumer. HEALTHvision will use Cytura 3.0 to provide context-sensitive health care information within a trusted e-health framework, and improve communication between patient, provider, and health care entity", said Raj Toleti, CEO and founder of Cytura Corporation.

HEALTHvision is focused exclusively on providing Web-based solutions that are customised and branded to the local health care organisation. With its comprehensive e-healthSOURCE Web infrastructure, the company leverages the Internet to improve relationships with consumers, patients, and doctors. A privately held company based in Irving, Texas, HEALTHvision was formed in July 1999 via the merger of the Internet-based products and resources of Eclipsys Corporation and VHA Inc., resulting in a potential customer base of more than 2400 health care organisations.

Cytura specialises in the convergence of content management, community building and personalisation software to simplify and reduce the costs of eBusiness. Cytura provides a centralised, integrated framework for delivering Extreme Personalization, real time content management as well as dynamic community building capabilities, unmatched by any combination of niche vendors. By leveraging the power of XML, the company guarantees a flexible platform that can easily snap into an existing IT infrastructure with little or no reconfiguration. Content can be personalised for individual communities, and businesses can support multiple communities from a central platform without any scripting or code writing. Based in Florida, Cytura was founded in 1998.
