HealthTrio installs core administrative system at Cascade East Health Plans and outsources its solution through Zebec

Nashville 24 September 2001HealthTrio, a provider of e-Health applications and core business administration systems for the managed care industry, has installed HealthTrio xpress, a fully integrated end-to-end business administration system, at Cascade East Health Plans in Hermiston, Oregon. HealthTrio has also partnered with Zebec, a full-service IT and data management outsourcing company, to offer a comprehensive information technology solution for the health care industry. This partnership allows HMOs, provider at risk organisations, and other health care entities to streamline their health care administration, data management, and communications through HealthTrio's HIPAA-ready software, hosted by Zebec's data centre and telecommunications network.

Cascade licensed HealthTrio xpress to replace the outsourced system it previously used for claims adjudication and business operations. HealthTrio xpress is now Cascade's core business system. The health plan is using it to both integrate and power all processes from end to end of the administrative infrastructure. This is enabling Cascade to manage all core business processes effectively and efficiently, while simultaneously aggregating data for easy access, storage, maintenance, and sophisticated reporting. HealthTrio xpress provides comprehensive resources to effectively satisfy the unique nuances of managed care.

After an implementation period of only 90 days, HealthTrio xpress is fully operational at Cascade East Health Plans. In addition to powering core business processes, the system features robust functionality to help support health plans' HIPAA-compliance initiatives. HealthTrio xpress runs in a client server environment using industry-standard SQL driven databases and server platforms. A Windows-compatible interface provides a familiar, user-friendly environment that is easy even for novices to learn how to use. Aggregated data is available with one keystroke, rather than requiring several different applications to access different data sets.

In addition, HealthTrio's unique exception-based rules logic enables health plans to set up and implement the system in industry record time, as well as enabling updates to the system's functionality quickly and easily, rather than requiring engineers to write a new rule for every new contingency. HealthTrio xpress can be implemented as a stand-alone system, and becomes even more powerful when combined with HealthTrio connect, a Web-based software application that automates health plan transactions with providers, members, and employers, while providing instant 24-hour access to health plan information for all stakeholders.

HealthTrio xpress is also available as a fully outsourced solution for those clients that do not have the in-house infrastructure and staffing required to administer a core business system. In this regard, both HealthTrio's xpress and connect applications and Zebec's secure data network are accountable through a single point of contact and allow health care organisations to return their focus to core business issues like growth and revenue. Specific benefits include quick implementation, relief to overburdened and understaffed IT departments, cost reductions for administrative and communications needs, and dedicated, ongoing technical support.

Through Zebec, clients will be connected to a highly secure data centre via one of the most up-to-date worldwide networks available. The company's experienced IT staff provides around-the-clock technical support and maintenance, enabling clients to redirect resources once dedicated to in-house technical staff. With Zebec, the costs associated with equipment, IT staffing, and technical problems are greatly reduced or eliminated. Cascade East Health Plans is a not-for-profit group health plan. Currently, CEHP has nearly 4000 members and over 100 employer groups in their service area of Umatilla and Morrow counties. Cascade East is a subsidiary of Good Shepherd Health Care System.
