Capsule Technologie to provide medical device connectivity to Dräger Medical Group

Paris, Lübeck 06 September 2001Capsule Technologie and Dräger Medical have signed an agreement whereby Dräger Medical will incorporate Capsule Technologie's DataCaptor software into its Recall Anaesthesia Information Management System (AIMS). By integrating the DataCaptor software, Recall will be able to receive data from over 140 devices from different manufacturers who are included in the continually growing DataCaptor Device Interface Library.

Dräger Medical's market-leading Recall AIMS constitutes a planning, documentation, and analysis software targeting the Operation Room and Anaesthesia environment. The terms of the agreement position Capsule Technologie as the sole supplier of medical device connectivity for the Recall AIMS application.

Capsule Technologie's DataCaptor solution is a medical device connectivity engine that collects data from medical devices and sends it to a host clinical information system. DataCaptor allows clinical information systems providers to integrate legacy device data directly into their applications, creating a complete and accurate patient chart in an acute care environment.

"One of the key elements of the Recall system is the ability to capture data from third party devices to create an open and flexible tool for data documentation and analysis", explained Dr. Martin Hurrell, Managing Director of Dräger Informatics Limited. "Capsule Technologie's DataCaptor will allow us to use an advanced connectivity system created by specialists and to offer our customers significantly enhanced ability to receive data from a wide range of devices."

"Connectivity capability represents an increasingly strategic issue for Clinical Information Service providers worldwide", stated Nicolas Choussat, President of Capsule Technologie. "By enabling higher connectivity performance for Recall's end-users in hospital environments, DataCaptor will bring an extremely powerful solution to the health care market."
