MDeverywhere to release new version with enhanced features of its point-of-care solution

Durham 04 December 2002MDeverywhere, specialised in providing handheld solutions for physicians to improve efficiency and accuracy at the point of care, has made available version 7.0 of its tool. The newest release features enhanced solutions that easily adapt to different health care environments by further customising the way physicians and administrators are able to manage information to fit individual needs, preferences, and situations.

Superior diagnosis searching, care team management, reference information and reporting have been enhanced and added to the components of MDeverywhere's integrated encounter capture platform: EveryCharge, EveryReference, and EveryNote.

MDeverywhere 7.0 offers unmatched patient management by allowing access to multiple patient lists on a single handheld device. In addition, common lists of patients can be shared across multiple care team providers for encounter charge capture. These features provide tremendous value to resident and attending work flow, inpatient rounding list coverage, and care team management in outpatient and inpatient settings.

"With each new product generation, MDeverywhere has incorporated valuable features and functions that continue to facilitate broad deployment across our organisation", stated Debbie Rivers, manager, systems support Carle Clinic Association in Urbana, Illinois. "Some of our clinics necessitate that the patient be seen by the next available physician, while others have pre-set schedules", continued Debbie Rivers. "The new enhancements have effectively streamlined physician work flow even further and improved communication among the whole care team."

From an administrative standpoint, additional reporting functions provide summaries to aid in organisational planning and tracking. Diagnosis frequency, monthly and weekly aging and inpatient charge tracking reports, among others, are now available. In addition, transaction suspend capabilities currently allow administrators to automatically place a hold on encounters that need to be reviewed for various reasons, including complex cases or compliance concerns. The result is cleaner claims and fewer denials.

"Feedback on the 7.0 release from customers like Carle Clinic indicates high levels of customer satisfaction and continued return on investment", stated Dr. Dan Pollard, MDeverywhere vice president of marketing. "The release represents a major milestone in functionality further extending MDeverywhere's leadership position in the encounter capture market. The next product release, scheduled for early 2003, will incorporate wireless technology with the already robust syncing architecture of the system."

MDeverywhere offers industry leading point-of-care solutions designed to streamline the business of medicine for physicians. The solution components, EveryCharge for charge capture, EveryNote for integrated dictation, EveryReference for reference tools, and EveryOrder for order capture, build efficiency and productivity into physicians' work flow, reclaiming dollars previously lost as the result of bulky administrative processes. Seven published Return On Investment (ROI) studies at major health care organisations proved an average 317 percent ROI.

MDeverywhere recently announced a partnership with Unbound Medicine, enabling care providers to add A to Z Drug Facts, Drug Interaction Facts Module, and MEDLINE Journals to their existing service. MDeverywhere interfaces with major practice management systems and is available on Palm OS- and Pocket PC-based handheld devices and the Web.
