Misys signs contracts with Central Plains Laboratories and Salem Hospital

Tucson 30 April 2003Misys Healthcare Systems has signed an agreement with Central Plains Laboratories located in Hays, Kansas. The contract covers the acquisition, deployment, and software maintenance of a suite of new and upgraded Misys clinical information systems that will complement the client's growing reference laboratory business and their existing Misys Laboratory information systems and includes Misys Commercial Laboratory 3.0, Misys Clinical Financial 3.0, and CoPathPlus from Misys. The company also has signed an agreement with Salem Hospital, located in Salem, Oregon. Building upon the existing Misys-Salem Hospital relationship, the contract covers the acquisition, deployment and software maintenance of the Misys Clinical Financial, a comprehensive information system that combines accounts receivable and billing with a rich set of regulatory compliance tools.


Salem Hospital selected the Misys solution based on its multi-disciplinary approach and optimisation of multiple Misys products while assisting in the growth of their outreach programme. Salem Hospital is one of the largest of Oregon's 63 acute care hospitals. It is a not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 454 acute care beds, and is guided by a 15-member volunteer Board of Trustees. The hospital is the city's largest private employer, with approximately 2900 full and part time employees. There are over 400 physicians representing all specialities who admit patients to the hospital. More than 500 volunteers provide non-medical support for the hospital.
