Parkview, an existing Carecast site, selected the technology offerings because of its relationship with IDX and Sentillion's expertise in health care security and access technologies. "The combination of Sentillion's single sign-on and context management technology with Carecast will improve the clinical work flow and caregiver access to the patient information across the Parkview enterprise", stated Jerry Mourey, vice president of information services and associate CIO at Parkview Health.

"This technology will also improve access to information and enhance our security and privacy across the health system as we continue to address HIPAA compliance. We further believe that the automation of clinical, financial and administrative activities that Carecast affords will improve the quality of care across all of our facilities", continued Mr. Mourey.

"Working with a health system such as Parkview and a health information technology specialist such as IDX is of great value to Sentillion as we move to our next level of growth", stated Eric Corkhill, vice president of sales at Sentillion Inc. "As we continue to add large regional hospitals to our client base, we are seeing a significant increase in the need for single sign-on products that are built for the health care professionals. Our technology offering was created solely for the health care enterprise and delivers a unique set of benefits not found in other generic sign-on vendor."

"As an IDX customer, Parkview will benefit from our partnership with Sentillion", added Michael Raymer, vice president of marketing, IDX Carecast. "As we continue to grow our partnership we expect to see an increased number of institutions interested in the combination of Sentillion's single sign-on and context management with Carecast's comprehensive enterprise system."

The IDX-Sentillion relationship offers health care organisations a suite of products that enable simplified access to health care applications, designed specifically to meet the productivity, privacy and security needs of hospitals, medical clinics and health care providers.

The security offerings are designed to support patient confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security requirements with streamlined, secure authentication and sign-on procedures, whether clinicians use passwords, smart cards, tokens or biometric devices. IDX context management synchronises Carecast and other technology applications at the desktop. This technology allows caregivers to select a patient in any application and to have all other applications automatically tune to that same patient.

Parkview Health's primary goal is to provide powerful medicine for healthier communities. Established in 1995, Parkview Health is comprised of a growing family of health care providers including six hospitals. Health care is co-ordinated so patients can progress easily from one service to another. As a result, patients are assured their care is well-organised and well-communicated among the health professionals caring for them, with as little duplication as possible.

Together, members of Parkview Health are enhancing the quality of care while reducing the cost of services for residents throughout northeastern Indiana and northwestern Ohio. Parkview Health member hospitals include Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City; Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington; Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville; and its flagship facility, Parkview Hospital, located in Fort Wayne.

Sentillion has one focus: delivering technology that allows users simplified, intuitive and consistent access to all health care applications in a secure manner. Recently named the leader in single sign-on for health care by IDC Research, Sentillion's Vergence product suite enables single sign-on access to health care systems, strong authentication, single patient selection across multiple applications, and centralised privacy management.

Innovative health care organisations across the nation including federal health care institutions, academic health care institutions, integrated delivery networks, community hospitals, and clinics use Sentillion's products.
