This programme expansion comes as a result of positive feedback from MGMA members successfully using daytime WebMessenger in their medical group practices. MGMA members reported streamlined staffing requirements elimination or reduction of abandoned calls and busy-outs, increases in patient satisfaction and process improvements.
Through the use of WebMessenger, NotifyMD's call centre-based operators receive MGMA member practice calls during the day, take messages through the use of custom message templates and deliver the content for access on a desktop or wireless device. The medical group practice can view, sort, distribute and report message content while retrieving messages, real-time, on-line, and in a secure environment.
"The MGMA relationship has been the primary catalyst for sales of NotifyMD's after-hours messaging and urgent notification physician services. With the addition of WebMessenger to the AdminiServe programme, we hope to accelerate the sales of our after hours service, while propelling our daytime solution for physician practices", stated Dr. Gary Ferguson, CEO of NotifyMD.
Launched in January 2003, WebMessenger has been installed in over 40 client sites and accounts for over 75 percent of NotifyMD's new revenue. It is the only call centre-based HIPAA-compliant secure messaging platform available for physician offices today; ensuring that callers are attended to by a live voice while delivering text messages to the office securely over the Internet.
"WebMessenger leverages NotifyMD's 17 years of experience in the field of voice messaging and is the culmination of years of research and months of end user trials. Consistent with the MGMA's mission to help optimise physician office efficiency, decrease costs and improve the quality of health care delivery, WebMessenger has reduced FTEs, improved operational work flow and enhanced patient satisfaction", stated Dr. Ferguson.
"Since we started using WebMessenger, patients call and ask us how we can return their calls so promptly when they have to wait hours for their other doctors", stated Pamela Shannon, Administrator of Central Maryland Urology Associates. "Before WebMessenger, our patients had to endure busy signals and long wait times, often being directed to voice mail boxes to leave messages. WebMessenger has eliminated all of this, giving every caller a live voice."
"We retrieve our text messages securely over an Internet connection. My staff is able to view their user privileged-controlled access to messages and I am able to view, sort, distribute and report all of the message content. I monitor the status of every patient request as my staff acts on the messages. We use NotifyMD and WebMessenger for every daytime call except for billing inquiries and post-surgical calls. WebMessenger has given us control of our day", Pamela Shannon continued.
"MGMA recognises the need for our members to streamline and maximise processes within their medical group practices", stated William F. Jessee, MD, CMPE, MGMA president and CEO. "In an economy of continued financial challenges for medical group practices and increasingly complicated legal and federal requirements, we are proud to broaden our relationship with NotifyMD and help offer increased administrative simplification to our members."
