American Hospital Association selects slp3D to provide Internet broadcasting solutions

Chicago 02 December 2003The American Hospital Association (AHA) has awarded its exclusive endorsement to slp3D's Internet broadcasting platform. Today's patients are Web-savvy, utilizing the Internet to access information on symptoms, procedures, and conditions to work in concert with their doctor or hospital. Taking advantage of slp3D's Internet broadcasting solutions, hospitals can help bring that information to their community's fingertips.

More and more, hospitals are utilizing new technologies to help educate patients, to fulfil educational requirements for staff and as a workforce retention and recruitment tool. slp3D's Internet based solutions can help hospitals adopt technology thereby differentiating themselves in their communities.

The AHA chose slp3D because of their health care focus and experience in developing more than 600 medical Web-casting events as well as over 2000 hours of on-line health care video programming. The slp3D platform includes live, on-line surgical broadcasts that showcase Centers of Excellence, as well as institutionally-customized, on-line patient education videos. slp3D's on-line broadcasting solutions are designed to provide easy to access medical information and education to patients and hospital employees. By creating an on-line information source, hospitals can experience increased patient volume and employee satisfaction.

"It's the provider's inherent duty to share knowledge and expertise while learning from the knowledge and expertise of others. The AHA encourages open and direct dialogue throughout the health care community and the addition of slp3D's service can further this goal. Through this new technology alliance with slp3D, patients can access video information on a procedure they're thinking of having and that will enable a stronger level of patient satisfaction", stated Brian Lane, assistant vice president of technology.

"slp3D recognizes that hospitals face the same kind of fiscal pressures that confront other markets. Our on-line broadcasting solutions are unique technologically but very basic in their results", stated Ross Joel, slp3D's executive vice president of sales and marketing. "We are proud of the AHA's endorsement and believe it is a testament to our knowledge of the goals and challenges that face hospitals. We believe the AHA's endorsement speaks to the value slp3D can bring to hospitals", added Ross Joel.

slp3D's on-line platform includes OR LIVE Plus, a live and interactive, surgical broadcast solution complete with broadcast quality production values, integrated slide presentation, real-time audience interactivity and continuing medical education courses. OR LIVE Plus also includes registration and data mining capabilities, as well as sophisticated reporting and revenue reconciliation features.

In addition, slp3D has a range of on-demand, interactive video solutions from HealthForum 24/7 - a health care symposia - to Healthcare TV Online (HCTV), a patient education video resource. HCTV is a special, condition-specific, video-driven Web site supplement that features patient education videos customized for each hospital. HCTV has a proven track-record of driving call centre volume, e-mail registrants, appointment setting and traffic to physician finders.
