CACI awarded Information Technology contract to support military health systems

Arlington 23 December 2003CACI International Inc. has been awarded a 10-year Defense Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services (D/SIDDOMS) III contract to provide information technology support for the Military Health System (MHS). CACI anticipates the value of its tasking under this contract will be approximately $60 million. The total value of the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity D/SIDDOMS contract is estimated at $8 billion. The contract will be used by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs to issue task orders in support of the IT needs of the vast DoD health care community. The award supports all of the company's core areas of expertise as well as its growing presence in the DoD health care services market.

D/SIDDOMS covers hundreds of MHS systems, both battlefield and domestic, that store medical information for service members and their families. It includes provisions for maintaining and enhancing current systems, developing new systems, and networking systems for better information sharing.

CACI has significant experience supporting military health care clients. Most recently, the company was awarded $60 million to support TRICARE, the programme that delivers health care services to MHS beneficiaries. CACI also provides IT and related support to the Veterans Affairs' Healthcare Benefits Information Center and the Army Medical Command.

CACI's systems integration and software expertise was also a key factor in the company's award. CACI software development processes are rated at Level 3 of the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model, certifying that they meet strict requirements for quality and repeatability. Organisations rated at Level 3 have more successful project deliveries and score higher in client satisfaction.
