Sectra honoured with Frost & Sullivan Business Development Strategy Leadership Award

London 14 January 2004The picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) vendor Sectra has been presented the 2003 Frost & Sullivan Business Development Strategy Leadership Award for its proven ability to best perceive clients' needs, develop and introduce products and/or services to the industry and to identify new market segments to expand existing customer base.

The selection was based on primary research among market participants, customers and suppliers, along with extensive secondary and technology research. Companies' business development efforts were evaluated based on the number of new customers, new segments and commitment to business expansion.

Beginning as an IT company, Sectra has since effectively targeted complementary high-growth markets. It is a leading medical technology provider today and ranks amongst the most aggressive PACS vendors in the industry.

"Sectra has proven business methodologies well in line with its corporate objectives of establishing a strong global brand and a high market growth rate", notes Frost & Sullivan health care analyst, Siddharth Saha. Rising sales, in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe, helped the award recipient record an impressive 18 percent growth in revenues over the last year.

Central to Sectra's business development strategy has been the building of client relationships. The company's stated objectives include the joint financing of new development projects with customers or partners. Identification of, and rapid response to, customer demands together with a commitment to collaborating with customers in all product development initiatives has resulted in innovative, high-performance and user-friendly solutions.

Underlining the company's approach of promoting its core competency and outsourcing anything outside its strategic expertise, Sectra has forged alliances with niche participants in 3D imaging, HIS/RIS integration, applications for computer-aided diagnosis etc.

"By associating with technology partners, Sectra has demonstrated that it is quick to respond to industry challenges and that it has wasted no time in developing its product portfolio with new applications in line with market needs", added Mr. Saha.

Sectra is one of today's major diagnostic imaging providers with more than 420 installations worldwide. Sectra's core business is to deliver top-of-the-line, high-availability, robust enterprise diagnostic imaging for 24/7 operation. In Scandinavia, Sectra is the market leader with more than 50 percent of all film-free installations. The company also has a large number of systems installed in most major countries in Europe, the Far East and North America, in co-operation with partners.
